The Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) is an annual event that celebrates efforts and work. Its 8th edition kicked off and had its fashion show on Sunday. The event allowed designers to showcase their collections on the runway.

The show had several entries but only 9 finalists made the top list; they include Amy Aghomi, Azeezat Alawusa, Ezioghene Egbelefiyo, Felix Asuquo, Ikechukwu Nwosu, and Obinna Omeruo, Omowunmi Pilot, and Oseluese Okpamen.
Top fashion gurus took the selected finalist through a two-week training session; to help them prepare and also draw inspiration from their wealth of knowledge and experience. They include Lanre Da Silva Ajayi of Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Mai Atafo of ATAFO, and Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture
The show came to an end with Mai Atafo announcing Felix Asuquo of the Fai brand, Obinna Umero of the Omeruo brand, and Sophie Chamberlain of the Pherla Nuba brand as winners of the ‘Design For Stars Competition’ and first-ever AMVCA fashion runway show.
The winners got a whooping sum of five million nairas each. Obinna Omeruo and Sophie Chamberlain also won Pepsi’s mini-competition, earning another N1 million each.
