Track and field is one of the events we merry to watch; and one Nigerian female athlete that puts smiles on our face. However. things just took a new turn for her. Blessing Okagbare Gets Career-Ending Ban (10-year) for breaching doping regulations. Great Britain has lost Tokyo 2020 Olympic silver medals after; CJ Ujah tested positive for a banned substance.
Blessing Okagbare is 33 years old, with a specialty in long jump; and short sprints is an Olympic and World Championship medallist, including silver in Beijing in 2008.
In July, a human growth hormone ruled her out of the semi-finals; at the Olympic Games, in the women’s 100m in Tokyo.
Blessing Okagbare is served a 10-year ban by the Athlete Integrity Unit (AIU). This follows positive tests for multiple substances and failures to corporate with investigations.
A statement released by the AIU reads,
“The Disciplinary Tribunal has banned Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare Gets Career-Ending Ban for a total of 10 years; five years for the presence and use of multiple prohibited substances; and five years for her refusal to co-operate with the AIU’s investigation into her case.
Also, Great Britains’ lost a silver medal in the men’s 4x100m relays in the 20220 games. This is due to Ujah’s drug test returning traces of Ostarine and S-23 – both banned substances.
Ujah raced in the first leg of the sprint relay as Great Britain, with a team also including Zharnel Hughes, Richard Kilty, and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, edged out Italy for second on the podium.

My attention has been drawn to the statement issued by the AIU regarding its disciplinary panel decision. My lawyers are currently studying it for our next line of action which we will inform you soon.??❤
