Change is constant and no doubt comes with a lot of discomforts. One of such recent discomfort is The introduction of the new naira notes in Nigeria. The more challenging part is the unavailability of new notes. The central bank in a recent development had announced 31st January as the deadline for the use of the old note, however, there’s an update in that regards as CBN extends the deadline for new notes to 10th February.
This also affected businesses as many refused collection of the old currency following the initially forcasted deadline.
It’s been hectic for both bank workers and the masses, as they all struggle to get the old notes from their disposition. Following the initially announced deadline, this has caused long bank queues and more people waiting outside.
Also, a large number of persons were seen on Sunday morning waiting outside the bank.
The recent development allows a bit of rest, as there’s an extension, giving people more days to deposit their old currency.
We are hopeful that the new currency will be available, as most people have complained that the banks don’t pay with the new currencies.
